Shen Shaomin: DSL Collection commissions new artwork

The DSL collection, founded by Sylvain and Dominique Levy, focuses exclusively on contemporary Chinese art and is one of the strongest private collections of its kind. With a keen eye for both the changing social ethnography of China and its influences worldwide since 2005, the Levys include the works of Ai Weiwei and Zeng Fanzhi in their collection.

In 2015, the Levys commissioned Shen Shaomin to create an important Mao painting as a permanent addition to their collection. The painting continues a series in which Shen critiques the factory production processes and art industry with bubblewrap portraits.

The DSL collection continues to be displayed through travelling exhibitions and online.
